Plant care
Keeping your Purple Heart happy
Bright light or partial sun
The more light it gets, the deeper the purple color stays.
Well-draining soil
Use a loose potting mix or amended bed soil so roots never sit wet.
Water when the topsoil dries
Check the upper inch of soil and water once it begins drying out.
Protect from hard freezes
Move container plants to shelter when a hard freeze is forecast.
Trim periodically
Pinch or trim stems now and then to encourage fuller, bushier growth.
